Transferring a graphite rubbing on tracing paper of my painting surface onto a fused wax surface. How some of my Glacie Atlas studies are made.
Each layer of encaustic needs to be fused to the surface to ensure stability. I do this with a heat gun, blowtorch or iron. In this short clip, I am fusing a large piece with a domestic sized iron.
