Encaustic Collagraph Printmaking in Guanajuato! 

Make the picturesque Spanish Colonial hill town of Guanajuato your destination for creating and exploring next Winter! Guanajuato was founded in 1559 due to the region's rich silver and gold deposits. Opulent colonial buildings, stunning tree-filled plazas and brightly colored houses are crammed onto the steep slopes of a ravine. Excellent museums, handsome theaters and a fine marketplace punctuate the cobblestone streets. The city's 'main' roads twist around the hillsides and plunge into tunnels, formerly rivers.

Piramidal Grafica
The workshop takes place at Piramidal Grafica. With two large presses and ample workspace for 12 participants, this professional printmaking facility is well suited to serve all the creative needs of workshop attendees. Five days have been allotted with a day off built into the program for you to explore the City or take a day trip to nearby San Miguel de Allende at an extra cost.

Tuition
Enrollment is open and underway.
The tuition is $975 and includes the welcome dinner and 6 lunches.

Tuition balance is due December 10. After December 10 refunds, less a $100 admin fee, are possible only if your space can be filled.

Monday, January 8, 7 pm - Welcome dinner and orientation at Alma del Sol
Tuesday-Thursday, Jan 9-11 - Instruction 10-5
Friday, Jan 12 - day off to tour the city and region or visit San Miguel
Saturday-Sunday, January 13-14 Instruction 10-5
Sunday, January 14 - late afternoon/ evening - informal critique, celebration, dinner out (no host)
January 15, or later - depart Guanajuato

Accommodations
Our host Hugo Anaya has reserved 9 rooms that can accommoadate 1 or 2 people each for up to 12 participants at his charming B&B Alma del Sol. 

These accommodations are $100 per night/ room, including breakfast. They are available on a first come basis. Contact Hugo directly at info@almadelsol.com to make your arrangements. Contact me if you need assistance in finding a roommate.

All lodging accommodations are a short cab ride or an invigorating walk to and from the studio.

Travel
All participants are responsible for their own travel to and from Guanajuato. You will likely fly in to Leon (BJX) and will receive instructions for transport to Guanajuato
